Xzibit shared his perspective on the rap feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

During an appearance on Johnny James’ YouTube show, the West Coast legend lauded Lamar for his incredibly successful run.

“I love what Kendrick is doing,” Xzibit said. “I feel like I said this before—you don’t pick a fight with someone who really likes to fight.”

Although he supports Lamar as a fellow California MC, Xzibit argued that Drake may have not lost the battle, but the “6 God” is far from done.

“Drake isn’t done. He’s not dead. Kendrick did not kill the man,” the “What U See Is What U Get” rapper explained. “He’s one song away from being back where he was.”

He also spoke about how he would love to see the two rap titans make amends in the future.

“The perfect ending of this story is maybe they have a sit-down and talk about like Isiah [Thomas] and [Michael] Jordan,” Xzibit continued. “Getting some clarity on what their mind state was and they come to peace.”

As the conversation continued, Xzibit said the beef reminded him of a dark period in hip-hop when Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. both were killed.

“In our era, we lost Tupac, Biggie, and countless others,” Xzibit reflected. “So whenever I see something of that magnitude happening, the first thing I think of is who’s gonna die.”

In March, Xzibit shared that Lamar calling Drake a pedophile is fair game in a battle. During an interview with Bill Maher’s Club Random Podcast, X pushed back against the comedian suggesting that Lamar was out of line.

“No. Are you kidding?” X exclaimed. “This is a rap battle! This is not a testimony or deposition. This is a f**king rap battle,  I’m going to talk about your mama, your daddy, your children, your grandma’s wooden leg, your missing teeth. It’s all a game, right?”

“If there was something weird going on, then there would definitely be people that would come forward and testify, and then people would be charged for that,” Xzibit said. “But when you’re playing the dozens, and I give you one that hurts your feelings, don’t be the guy who wants to fight because I got a good joke.
