According to Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Kim needs to stop being “quiet” and begin making music again.

On Sunday (Mar.9), the rapper’s closest friends, family, and celebrity peers piled into the Brooklyn Chop House in Times Square. Quite a few stars were in attendance, including Lil’ Kim. The celebratory event was in honor of the rapper’s latest project, Dragon Season… The Awakening, which was released earlier this year. His son, Trillion, had also recently released a track with NLE Choppa titled “Smyl (Show Me Your Love).”

However, Busta Rhymes decided to use the moment to show love to the “Crush On You” rapper. As captured in a video, Busta Rhymes holds Kim close to his side and shares with the crowd a conversation he’d recently shared with her regarding her return to music.

“It’s time to light the fuse,” Busta Rhymes Tells Lil Kim

“I called Lil’ Kim’s phone last night, and I told the queen, I’m tired of watching you sit down and be quiet,” he says. “Our alumni are [finally] getting our flowers now.” The rapper then proceeds to bring up Missy Elliot and Mary J. Blige, who’ve recently been inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall Of Fame. “Missy did records with all of them. Mary did records with all of them. Lil’ Kim did records with all of them.”

Busta then says it’s time for Kim to “light the fuse” and says the “dynamite stick gotta bust again.” He adds, “It’s time to bust your gun, queen. It’s time to get active again, queen. It’s time to show Brooklyn who the queen of the f*cking borough is, queen.”

Before he ends the short speech, Busta Rhymes ask the crowd to show their appreciation for the rapper saying, “If y’all wanna see Lil Kim in these streets, f*cking shit up they way I do, making some f*cking noise, to which the crowd responded with cheers and applause.
