On Saturday (Jan.25), Lizzo jumped on Instagram to share exciting news about her weight-loss journey. The “Special” singer says she’s finally at her ideal “goal weight.” Prior to this, Lizzo had been documenting her healthy journey on her social media profiles for several years. In the post, Lizzo is spotted looking slimmer than ever in an athleisure-inspired two-piece, likely from her Yitty, shapewear company.

“I did it,” she writes. ” Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!” Judging, by the comment section, her supporters couldn’t be more proud of her.

Since beginning her career, Lizzo has faced major criticism over her weight and promotion of body inclusivity. That said, she’s never let any of the haters weigh her down. In 2021, after a troll made a few remarks about her being “obese,” on Instagram she took it in stride and offered a hilarious, satirical response. “I wake up into my obese bed, [and] I have to get like a king bed because I’m so obese. I put on my obese Louis Vuitton house slippers, and walk into my massive, obese bathroom and I just stare into my wall-to-wall, obese mirror and lather myself in the most obese, expensive oils and creams.”

Last October, the singer poked fun at rumors she’d used Ozempic to fast-track her weight loss, by dressing up as the controversial medication. Many celebrities have been accused of using the drug solely for its weight loss benefits, without having an official medical diagnosis. In early 2024, South Park addressed the drug’s growing popularity among celebrities and referenced the singer. However, it seems Lizzo had the last laugh.
