Megan Thee Stallion’s Boyfriend’s Ex, Walks Back Alleged Racist Remarks
Olivia Davis responded to the backlash she’s received over comments made about Megan Thee Stallion. Davis is the ex-girlfriend of Chicago Bulls player Torrey Craig, who’s now dating the Houston rapper. Davis says she’s not racist and believes her words are being “misinterpreted.” Prior to this, the Instagram influencer stopped by the 3 Girls 1 Kitchen podcast and talked about Craig’s relationship with Megan Thee Stallion. The host recalled all of Craig’s exes looking very similar to Davis (who is white, with blond hair and blue eyes) and questioned his “type.”
Shortly after, Davis proceeded to laugh while mispronouncing Megan Thee Stallion’s name several times. The clip went viral, and it was suggested that Davis’ repeated mispronunciation of the rapper’s name; along with the host discussing what Craig’s “type” could be considered microaggressions. However, Davis doesn’t see it that way. “I’ve never been called a racist my entire life,” she began. “It’s just like a little bit of a shock to me.”
While the influencer doesn’t agree with the backlash she’s received, she did offer an apology to anyone offended. Davis made it very clear that she knows who Megan The Stallion is, but has issues with her “vowels,” because English is not her first language. Davis refers to the blunder as a “Stupid, blonde, moment.” Megan Thee Stallion’s new boyfriend and his dating history might cause some trouble in paradise for the couple. A few weeks back, texts between Craig and an unknown woman circulated online.
In addition to messages, she posted screenshots of payments received from him. She also shared a clip showing Instagram DMs between her and Craig dating back several months. After the messages made their rounds on social media, Craig fired back on his Instagram Story. “Ain no way ppl want clout that bad [laughing emoji] [laughing emoji] [laughing emoji],” he wrote. It’s unclear what effects this news will have on the rapper’s relationship, but Megan Thee Stallion has stated in her music that she’s not fond of infidelity: “I’m way too f*ckin’ cocky to take him back if he been cheatin’,” she raps in “Hiss.”
