Jhene Aiko Reveals Her L.A. Home Has Been Burned Down in Fire
Jhene Aiko has revealed the unfortunate news that her L.A. home has been burned due to the fires in the area.
The singer shared the update on her Instagram stories, saying that her home has been “burned to the ground.” She said: “me and my children’s home is gone. Burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy. Thankful we still have each other. Starting from scratch, my heart is so heavy.”
As citizens fled the burning infernos, firefighters continued to fight several catastrophic wildfires that broke out across Los Angeles on Thursday, producing a spectacle straight out of the end times. At least five fires were still active in Los Angeles County, burning more than 40 square miles across the region, according to news agencies.
Mayor Karen Bass, speaking at a press briefing Thursday, said “heroic” firefighters aided by air operations are making progress against the flames.
“Historic winds and extensive drought have created a perfect storm that has driven people from their homes, have taken people’s homes and have taken people’s lives,” Bass said. “This is absolutely an unprecedented historic firestorm, but we are all hands on deck.”
