Anthony Hamilton and Musiq Soulchild Verzuz Announced

Anthony Hamilton and Musiq Soulchild will face off in a Valentine’s Day special Verzuz battle on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. It will broadcast live starting at 8:30 p.m. EST on Triller and other Verzuz-supported platforms.

The two veterans will celebrate their respective catalogs across 20 rounds.

Aside from Verzuz, Hamilton is embarking on The Night Tour with Maxwell and Joe this March to promote his most recent album, Love Is The New Black. The LP, which was among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2021 list, features Jennifer Hudson, Lil Jon, and Rick Ross. 

Soulchild last released Feel the Real in 2017. The double album won acclaim from his peers, receiving a nomination for Best R&B Album at the 60th Grammy Awards in 2018. 

Most recently, Soulchild appeared at the 2021 Soul Train Awards to perform an Aaliyah-dedicated soul cypher. In addition, he worked with Dylan Reese last May on a new song called “Lose Your Love.”
