Silk Sonic’s ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic’ Makes Solid Debut on Billboard 200
Silk Sonic’s (Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak) An Evening With Silk Sonic starts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 104,000 equivalent units sold in its debut sales week. Of that total, 42,000 copies were from pure sales.
An Evening With Silk Sonic is Mars’ fourth straight top-three debut on the Billboard 200. His only project to miss this mark of the main albums chart is 2010’s It’s Better If You Don’t Understand EP, which debuted at No. 99.
His last album, 24K Magic, opened at No. 2 while his sophomore set Unorthodox Jukebox climbed to the top position in spring 2013 following its December 2021 arrival.
Paak experiences his second taste of top five stardom on the Billboard 200 as Ventura, released in 2019, debuted at No. 4.
Seven out of the nine tracks from An Evening With Silk Sonic are charting on The Hot 100, including the focus track “Smokin Out The Window†(No. 5), “After Last Night†featuring Thundercat and Bootsy Collins (No. 68), and “Put On A Smile†(No. 78).
