The nominations for the 2021 Soul Train Awards have been announced. H.E.R. leads the competition with eight nods, including Album of the Year (Back of My Mind) and Best R&B/Soul Female Artist.

H.E.R., who led in 2020 and 2018, is double nominated in two fields: Best Collaboration and The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter of the Year Award, both of which she won at previous ceremonies.

Jazmine Sullivan and Chris Brown are tied with six honors, vying for both Best Collaboration and Video of the Year for their respective recordings. Meanwhile, Silk Sonic nets three each.

The 50th anniversary of Soul Train isn’t all that will be honored at the annual ceremony. Ashanti will receive the Lady of Soul Award, while Maxwell will be crowed with the Legend Award

Actresses Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold are booked for the fourth consecutive year as hosts.
