The American Music Awards is headed back to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles for its 48th annual ceremony on November 22 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. The Weeknd is up for the most awards with a total of eight nominations, including Artist of the Year. His latest album, After Hours, dropped back in March.

Fresh off her first-ever Billboard Music Awards win, Summer Walker receives her first set of AMAs nods for Favorite Song – Soul/R&B (“Playing Games”), Favorite Album – Soul/R&B (Over It) and Favorite Female Artist – Soul/R&B. She recently released a new EP titled Life on Earth. 



Chris Brown earns a pair of nominations in the Soul/R&B field, while Jhené Aiko, John Legend and Beyoncé secure one each in respective categories.
